Guided tour through the AAP foundation

Would you like to learn more about the foundation and how the apes live here? Then book a guided tour through this animal shelter. And while moving through the centre, see all the brazen little apes perform their wonderful stunts from a close-up. Guided tours are offered on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Booking the tour can be done by calling +31 (0)36 523 87 87 or via www.aap.nl. The AAP foundation rescues apes from various bad situations. Then, it gives them a warm and safe place to stay. Here you find, among others, hamadryas baboons, green baboons and the Barbary macaque. They just love to play and frolic around with each other the entire day, leaving their sad past way behind.

Dieren bezoeken Almere Jungle

Apenpraatjes, the ‘ape talks’ at the AAP foundation

Are you curious about what happens at the animal shelter? Then come and listen, either on Wednesdays at 2 pm or Saturday and Sunday at 11:30 am and 2 pm respectively. The AAP foundation will hold their special story reporting moments then, called ‘Appenpratjes’ (‘little ape talks’). Those events take approximately 20 minutes and are free of charge. The animal experts will tell everything about the various apes then: What happened within the ape groups and between them. You will definitely not get bored listening to those talks. The apes will make sure to have their own great wild fun at the same time! Starting point is the plank bridge leading towards the ape islands. Reserving a place is not necessary. Just keep in mind that the ‘little ape talks’ take place open air and the maximum group size is 20 people. Also, the talks take place only if there is sufficient staff present at this section – that is to say, it depends on the (wo-)manpower available at that moment.

Koeienpraatjes, the ‘cow talks’ at the city farm

Visit the stables of the city farm on the premises of De Kemphaan. Listen there to what the farmer and his helpers have to say during the koeienpraatjes, the ‘cow talks’! They will tell many interesting facts about cows in general and specifically regarding the cows living at the city farm. Everybody is welcome to attend, each last Sunday of a month, around 2 pm at the stable! After the talks you’ll have the opportunity to talk to the farmer. You can even buy a fine peace of beef then, for your next barbecue.
